In Jungian psychology, the term “opus” refers to the process of individuation, or personal development, in which an individual integrates their various psychic aspects, both conscious and unconscious. Opus literally means “work”, and in the context of Jungian psychology it refers to each individual’s life’s work: the process of discovering, accepting
and integrating all parts of one’s psyche. The psychoperformance Opus Tower is a symbolic act of integrating the human psyche, and the resulting art installation is an archetypal object symbolizing the process of individuation. In the context of the event’s title, Saccades and Company, this action can be interpreted as presenting an exploration of the human psyche (saccades) and the artefacts found within it, symbolizing the archetypes encountered (company).
