Manifesto of Anti-Agentive Art

Full editorial translation from Polish; original source · PDF 116

Manifesto of Anti-Agentive Art Anti-agentive art refuses the automatic simulation of relationships wherever a human being, responsibility, care, judgement or the future is at stake. It begins where a simulated relationship becomes an abuse. Not every question should go to a chatbot. Not every public can be replaced by a profile. Not every student should receive automatic feedback instead of a conversation. Not every institution can hide the human being behind a service interface. Anti-agentivity defends the right to a human being. The right to a human being means the right to a person’s response wherever a decision concerns judgement, care, conflict, harm, the future, access, exclusion or responsibility. Automatic empathy is not empathy. Simulated care is not care. Interaction without risk is not a relationship. Its formula is: where responsibility for the future is at stake, the human being cannot disappear behind an automated system. – Manifesto of Anti-Agentive Art
